America's Students are Waiting

The Internet has already revolutionized commerce, entertainment, research, and civic engagement. The time has come to harness technology to transform education.

In an era where schools are faced with dwindling resources and growing demands, digital learning represents America's best hope to transform its K-12 education system.

But 80% of schools do not have sufficient Internet infrastructure for digital learning.  The typical K-12 public school has the same Internet access as the typical home - with 100x more users.  As a result, over 40 million students are waiting for equal access to compelling curricula and great teachers.

In order to provide the robust access that teachers and students need, we must upgrade all of America's schools to 100 Mbps+ Internet infrastructure.

America's K-12 schools are at the epicenter of the digital divide.  If we do not act to ensure that every school has the Internet infrastructure they need for digital learning, technology will only increase inequity in our public schools.  Those with access will surge ahead by personalizing learning and increasing teacher effectiveness and student engagement.  Those without will still be waiting for access to compelling curricula and great teachers.  We must act now. America's students are waiting.
