Provide Technical Expertise to Schools
90% of school districts will require outside technical expertise in order to upgrade to 100 Mbps+ infrastructure. We're supporting them in two ways:
Sharing Networking Best Practices
EducationSuperHighway's Network Cookbook will share high-speed networking best-practices among schools and districts in easy to implement steps, so they can configure their existing hardware for maximum efficiency and successfully implement future upgrades.
The Cookbook uses information EducationSuperHighway is gathering from the National SchoolSpeedTest and the Snapshot Technical Assessment to identify the specific networking decisions that schools and districts need to make in order to implement learning ready 100 Mbps+ infrastructure, and provides tools (e.g. bandwidth planning tools) to customize those decisions for individual school goals.

Providing Technical Expertise to Schools
The Education Geek Squad provides direct support to at-need schools and districts in order to upgrade every school to a learning-ready Internet connection, and is developing long-term solutions to enable schools to independently manage their high-speed networking infrastructure. By providing top-tier networking support to local IT coordinators and at-need schools without networking staff, our Geek Squad helps schools assess their current networking infrastructure, plan for sufficient growth to meet their student needs, and deploy high-speed Internet infrastructure.
The Education Geek Squad is also developing a model technical support group that can be deployed by states - either in-house or outsourced - to provide lasting support to the 90% of districts that cannot afford dedicated networking staff.
